Lightbulb

Today I finally received Kit's nighttime neccessities. I have to say, I was a little dissapointed with the phone. I thought the telephone would be black metal like the typewriter or a similar heavier material but it's plastic Has it always been plastic?

The lamp is metal except for the base which is plastic. The battery door has to be unscrewed to insert the battery which I don't have the patience to do right now.

The book, Robin Hood is just like the other doll sized books-hardcover, color illustrations, etc. It is smaller in size than Samantha's Wizard of Oz book.

Neverthe less these items are now with Kit's desk set, which is still set up in a temporary location. I need to still find a permanent home for it.

Kit's phone reminded me of Bakelite. Bakelite, a hard plastic materiel that has been around since 1907. Here is a phone with some bakelite parts-

Yes, the phone has always been plastic, but I think it's still cute.

And you know something about the lamp? Every time the power goes out, that lamp helps me see. LOL! It works better than a flashlight. Now I need to get Kit's lantern and Molly's lamp.

Is the typewriter really metal?! I have been tempted to buy it, but was unsure of the quality.

Yes I have the typewriter and it is very good quality. It's metal and you can even press the rows of keys. It says something about making a "ding" sound at the end of a line but I didn't hear any sound. Still it's a beautiful piece. It comes with a box of typing paper and some of her newspapers. It goes hand in hand with the rolltop desk.
